Oh Hot Jesus...Boy Bands

Ok, seriously...the only boyband i remember is from my ripe Teenybopper age of 14 and that was the Backstreet Boys. After that, Boybands/Boy Groups have basically slipped off the face of the earth (i don't know whether that's a good thing or not). Then after that, when they tried to bring out boybands again, it was a HUGE failure for some reason. So, you must have known the look on my face, and the shock when i came across groups that...i'm kind of ashamed to say....I loved.

Never would I have thought of drooling over 4-5 boys who can dance so so well. And at 20 too. But because i've secretly fallen in love and have an eye for talent (wink wink), I decided that I want to share with the world!!!!
1. NLT
Yea, from here i wouldn't believe it much too, but these boys are SOOO good that I'm speechless half the time. From this pic you couldn't see it, but these boys can dance their A....butts off. I used to love B2k (and had a little thang thang for Lil' Fizz), so when i heard that these boys were signed on TUG (yes, TUG...same as B2K), I freaked. Ask my brother.

NLT stands for Not Like Them and they come from Texas and Los Angeles. The group consists of 4 top Hip Hop dancers who can SING whose names are Justin Joseph "JJ" Thorne, Travis Michael Garland, Kevin Michael Mchale, and V Sevani. They were basically put together by Chris Stokes....yea. They've put out 3 singles (some produced by Timbaland), their lastest one being "Karma" which is a HIT. So everyone take a look at these unbelievable kids...boys...men. Plus i love the toe tapping around 2:15 lol.

2. Varsity (Fanclub)

Ok, it does look like "The 80's Are Back"...which it is...but these boys are probably the replacement to that Pop Boyband toothache you've been having for the last eh...5-6 years. Now these guys are called Varsity and have very talented dancers in this unit. They haven't OFFICIALLY debuted yet, but their song "Future Love" is playing on the radio. The guys in this group are Drew, Jayk, Thomas, Bobby, and David, and range in age from 17 to 21. It was also stated that these guys were chosen from a nation-wide search. The guy in the back in orange, Bobby Edner, IS the little boy who was in Spy Kids 3, IS the talented hip hop dancer that you saw everywhere (i personally recognized him from "Smooth Criminal" by Alien Ant Farm), and WAS an original member of NLT. Interesting huh?

Now my little brother who is 16 LOVES these guys because of the fact that they have sooo much potential and they were produced by Timbaland and AKON. Oh yea....they've been touched my music gods. Here is their video called Future Love, but if you want to see them get their groove on check out Zero!

3. Legaci

Now I am seriously one who wants everything FAIR and i truly have to say that there really isn't an Asian singer in America that is BIG. So when i saw these boys, who are unsigned, i was basically screaming to record labels (not literally), "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?!?!"

Let me introduce Legaci, a 4 person Acapella Filipino group from Northern California. These boys are seriously a goldmine and who ever grabs them first will be a very very happy camper. I still can't believe they are unsigned. If you want to talk about BoyzIIMen, check them out, because it seems like they have taken the souls of BIIM and took it hostage. They are seriously THAT amazing.

In this video they were singing "If I Ever Fall In Love Again" by Shai and when one of them hit the infamous high note to "My Friend" I literally fell out of my seat. They are the hidden jewels that will Jumpstart the US's music industry because lately it's been kind of BLAH.

So this is my discovery on up and coming talent. There's really been a downslide in great music lately and I seriously believe that if these guys are representing the rest of 2008 and beginning of 2009, we are heading in a GREAT direction.

=) Heya Yuri! Welcome and great first post! I have to say, I liked all of the groups you mentioned, but I think I like Varsity most. HAHA something about their choreo, and voices is muy bueno!

Welcome to the group, Yuri. :]

I never hear of boy bands anymore... haha.

Varsity - I dig their style, and their voices are good. That song is cute too, haha. :]

Legaci - Their harmonizing is so nice... and I love this Shai song, so this little video you posted made me smile. They kind of remind me of this group: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiDgbKbSn-I -- Next Phaze. In that video they do a Boyz II Men song and their harmonizing is sooooo good.
