CRAYONBEATS--LEE HYORI

OK, I've got a confession to make...I'm a closet Hyori fan. HAHA damn. I say that like it's bad to admire her and her music. Whateves. She's awesome. I stopped listening to her during her "Dark Angel" episode, only because I was too caught up in the gossip surrounding her scandals and frankly I was turned off by it. Anyway. I decided to give her music a go once more, since it's been a while since I've listened to Korean Pop/R&B in a general. And let me say, I love her new album,It's Hyorish. Yep. Each and every track. And enough with the lame word puns on the title sounding like "whorish". Because it's so childish, and not funny.Plus Hyo's probably just sitting around singing Hi Hater**, as the gossip mongers and anti-fans talk smack. LOL.

Anywho, music wise, it's pretty solid, and it even sounds as if Hyori's gotten better vocally. Her voice is deeper than I remember it being, but I like the tone of it. <33 Not to mention, Hyori's always had a flare for style, and so I'm not surprised that I really favor all of her fashion choices from her photobook. Her single U-Go Girl has been stuck in my head since I first heard it,and I'm STILL not sick of it. However, her song "Don't Cry" is probably my new favorite. Her whole album is really a step up from pretty much every female Kpop artist I've listened to in terms of "realness." I say that because I don't feel like it's an image given to her by her company like countless other acts in the US and abroad. In the past, that's one of the things that kinda bothered me about Hyori's music, especially around the "Dark Angel" time. But from listening to her with a fresh perspective, it really seems as if this album is the "real Hyori" so to speak. Lyrically speaking, I can't comment really, as my Korean is FAR from fluent, but the bits and pieces I do understand ,I like what I hear.

Take a look @ her PV for the single U-GO Girl, which is a 'girlpower' type song. Pretty much, she's telling chicas to believe in themselves and all that jazz. =) Oh btw, check out NASSUN (the featured rapper) haha he reminds me of a mashup between Japanese rappers YOU THE ROCK☆ and TWIGY!! <3333

**sorry, i really hate that song. REALLY. but hey, the chorus sure does come in handy LOL**

I just finished listening to the album for a 2nd time... Some of those tracks are a little too girly for me. However, I like the songs you mentioned before and a few more. That Neo-Soul jam is still my shit tho! Overall, it's a pretty good album.

As for the video... I like it, but I'm not feelin' the song tho. You're right about that dude NASSUN too.

Well, it's mainly those first 3 songs. The very 1st song, 천하무적 이효리, is kinda New Wave, so I can tolerate that a little, Still, for the most part, I'll be skipping past those.
