The Coloring Book-Japanese Fashion

If you don't know, I absolutely love Japanese fashion sense. But I lean more towards the "urban" trends also known as "B-style" or "B-gyaru"(gyaru=girl). I'm not really into the Harajuku/Lolita look that's more world known. Anywho, the "B" in the phrases stands for "Black" so I've been told, because it's based on African American and Hip Hop styles from the US. However, please don't get it twisted, it's still very Japanese, and VERY fly.

Anywho, my favorite thing to do is read/look at Japanese Urban fashion magazines and websites. Favorite magazines of mine are Woofin' Girl, Blenda, LUIRE, and sometimes I'll check out ViVi, although it's more mainstream fashions than the others. My all time favorite mag is LUIRE, like seriously, I go through withdrawl each month in anticipation for the next issue. It's kinda sad, lol. But that's how awesome it is.

I also love visiting these websites for fashion ideas, and just to see how Japanese ladies bring their creativity to what is largely considered "black culture" in Asia:
DIVAS INC
Blacket
PAWER3

and here's even a few Korean sites I love to visit that have styles based on "B-Style":
QEENZ
B-Side Mall

All in all, I say Korean and Japanese ladies do their thing, and put a new twist on the fashions that originated in the US and Black culture. I'm really happy to see that Black American culture is appreciated abroad, and even re-invented into something uniquely Asian.
